Ceremonial keel laying for future Joint Support Ship

January 15, 2020 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

The Honourable Johnathan Wilkinson, Minister of Environment and Climate Change Canada, on behalf of Defence Minister Harjit S. Sajjan, will mark an important milestone in the construction of the first new Joint Support Ship for the Royal Canadian Navy.

Through our defence policy, Strong, Secure, Engaged, the Department of National Defence is ensuring our Royal Canadian Navy has the equipment it needs to monitor and defend Canadian waters, and to continue making significant contributions to international operations.


When: January 16, 2020 at 8:45 a.m. PST
Where: Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards
             50 Pemberton Ave.
             North Vancouver, B.C.
