DND/CAF Mark Indigenous Awareness Week 2022 with event in Ottawa

May 25, 2022 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

Media are invited to attend the Indigenous Awareness Week 2022 event. Major-General Michel-Henri St-Louis, Acting Commander of the Canadian Army and Defence Team Champion for Indigenous Peoples, together with Mr. Rob Chambers, Assistant Deputy Minister, Infrastrucutre and Environment, and co-chair of Defence Indigenous Advisory Committee will welcome members of the Defence Team and guests in recognizing and celebrating the contribution of Indigenous Peoples to the Defence Team and Canada.

Speakers will include Captain Jaime Lefebvre, Métis CAF member from 28 Field Ambulance, Jenny Kay Dupuis, Indigenous author, educator and award-winning artist; and acclaimed artist Roy Henry Vickers.

What:    Media will be given the opportunity to film the event.

When:   Friday, May 27, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT. Media are asked to arrive no later than 12:00 p.m.

Where: NDHQ Carling Campus, 60 Moodie Dr., Nepean, ON K1A 0K2
