Statement by the Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force
Statement
August 29, 2022 – Ottawa – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces
“On June 22, 2022 at 4 Wing Cold Lake, a call-sign review board, where call-signs are assigned to members associated with the fighter community, took place in a small group social setting.
An investigation was launched into statements made during this activity and remains ongoing. The investigation will examine actions of those involved during the call-sign review board.
While the investigation proceeds, a decision has been made to delay the change of command for 3 Wing Bagotville, which was scheduled to take place on August 30, 2022.
We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism across the RCAF. It is also important we ensure procedural fairness for all of our personnel as we make the critical changes required to foster a culture of absolute respect, dignity and inclusivity.”
