His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Montréal and Motor Vessel (MV) Asterix deploys to the Indo-Pacific

Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony of HMCS Montréal and Naval Replenishment Unit (NRU) MV Asterix on March 26 for the ships’ departure  to the Indo-Pacific region on Operation PROJECTION.

Operation PROJECTION is Canada’s ongoing naval forward presence mission to promote peace and stability in support of the rules-based international order.

WHAT:   Media are invited to attend the departure ceremony to capture footage of the ship’s departure. Family and friends will be present to wish them farewell on the jetty. There will be an opportunity to interview Rear-Admiral Brian Santarpia, Commander of Maritime Forces Atlantic.

WHEN:    March 26, 2023, at 10 a.m. (AST)

Media are requested to arrive at Rainbow Gate, His Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard Halifax, with photo identification, no later than 09:30 a.m. where they will be greeted and escorted to the site to cover the event.

WHERE:  NB Jetty, His Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard Halifax.
