100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force

Media are invited to a museum reopening and monument unveiling for the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) on April 2nd, 2024, at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden.

The Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence will also hold a media availability at Blue Mountain Resort prior to attending the Centennial Homecoming Dinner to welcome the 16 Wing Commander and CFB Borden Base Commander, along with 104 junior Members representing the future of the CAF. The dinner will not be open to media.

Notes for media:

Speeches at the Museum will be made by 16 Wing Commander- Colonel Gabriel Doré, Museum Curator- Dr. Andrew Gregory, the Chief of the Defence Staff- General Wayne Eyre and the Canadian Armed Forces Chief Warrant Officer Bob McCann.

Following the speeches, the media are invited to tour the museum, and interviews with designated Canadian Armed Forces members can be arranged by contacting Major Rob Bungay (details below). Speeches at the Monument will feature Lieutenant-General Eric Kenny, Commander of the Royal Canadian Air Force, as well as Honorary Colonels Renee van Kessel and Wayne Hay.

Media must have photo identification. Media must meet Lieutenant Kyle Donnelly or Major Rob Bungay at the parking location across from the RCAF Museum Annex Hangar 11 (please see the red location marker on map 2 on page 2).
