Defence Minister Bill Blair to travel to Inuvik from August 18-20, 2024

August 16, 2024 – Ottawa, Ontario – National Defence / Canadian Armed Forces

The Honourable Bill Blair, Minister of National Defence will visit Inuvik, Northwest Territories from August 18-20, 2024. During his visit, Minister Blair will meet with municipal, territorial, and Indigenous officials to discuss Canada’s new Arctic-focused defence policy update, Our North, Strong and Free, and to provide updates on federal defence investments in Inuvik.

Minister Blair will also meet with members of the Canadian Rangers, who are an essential element of Canada’s Arctic sovereignty. Minister Blair will be accompanied by the Honourable Dan Vandal, Minister of Northern Affairs, and Michael McLeod, Member of Parliament for the Northwest Territories.

August 20, 2024 – Minister Blair will participate in a media availability.
