CANCDTGEN 019/24
Canadian Cadet General Order (CANCDTGEN)
Launch of Advanced Leadership Program for Cadets in Years 5 to Year 7
- The Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) will launch for all corps and squadrons in September of 2024. Corps/squadrons are to ensure they include the new ALP when developing corps/squadron training plans.
- Cadets in Years 5 to 7 can participate in the ALP, which replaces the previous Year 5 and Master Cadet programs. The ALP is an optional training opportunity that takes one year to complete. Cadets who participate will have opportunities to network, improve their understanding of leadership, and be part of the planning and delivery of large cadet activities.
- The ALP is intended to be an additional qualification for cadets to include in their resume. It will be useful when applying for Cadet Program appointments, civilian jobs, and other opportunities. Participation in the ALP is not mandatory, or a requirement for cadet promotion.
- Delivery of the ALP will be a joint effort between Area Offices and corps/squadron personnel. Cadet progress in the ALP will be tracked in Fortress.
- Training documents and resources are available on the Training Management Guide (You are now leaving Canada.ca. Link accessible only on Cadet365), and registration for cadets is now open in Fortress. Questions regarding ALP may be directed to J7Youth@forces.gc.ca.
