A theatre of war honour formally entitled “Egypt” with year dates according to the service in each theatre of the unit concerned.Footnote 1
Description
The theatre honour “Egypt” was awarded to all units of the Empire that were involved in the campaign to protect the Suez Canal and Egypt from Turkish aggression over the period of 1915-1917. As a part of the 29th Division of the British Army the Royal Newfoundland Regiment was the only Canadian unit to have received this honour in recognition of the service of the First World War Regiment that served in this theatre.
