Description
The Honour “Polygon Wood” was awarded for actions that exploited the successes of the assault along the Menin Road. The attack on Polygon Wood between Zonnebeke and Gheluvelt was successful and led mainly by Australian and New Zealand forces. Canadian involvement in the attack was limited to a supporting role by the '2nd Battalion, Canadian Railway Troops, CEF' and the 1st Canadian Pioneer Battalion.
