The project involves the rehabilitation of the Anse-aux-Baleiniers beach facilities. Specifically, the work will include upgrading the beach by extending the boardwalks that run along the beach and by connecting the beach to the service building and the parking areas; installing observation points and attached benches; and building a stairway and an access path, to help protect the dune. Games for children and a rest area will be added on the beach, and the lighting, site access road and parking areas will be upgraded. CED’s contribution will cover all of the project costs.
The mandate of the recreational centre is to provide the public with adequate equipment for the practice of sports, socio-cultural, recreational and outdoor activities.

Centre récréatif Étang-du-Nord Inc.

The project by this recreational centre (also known as La Rocaille) involves the renovation of the building and the rehabilitation of the parking area and the wastewater treatment system. The work will include building a new foundation and installing the necessary electrical fixtures, changing the cladding, installing new doors and windows and strengthening the building structure. CED’s assistance will cover all of the costs.
For over 57 years, the people of Étang-du-Nord have been getting together at this centre to take part in a wide range of activities, such as board games, art workshops and dance and circus arts classes.

Comité des loisirs de Grande-Entrée I.M.

Non-repayable contribution of $43,445 out of a total investment of $100,750
The project involves upgrading the Grande-Entrée sports park by adding children’s playground equipment, swings and other recreational equipment, such as spring riders. The grounds will also be improved, and outdoor lighting will be added. CED’s contribution covers all the costs.
The mandate of the Comité des loisirs de Grande-Entrée is to provide recreational activities for the members of the community. The park already has an outdoor skating rink, softball and soccer diamonds and a service building.

Club de l'Âge d'Or de Grande-Entrée Inc.

Non-repayable contribution of $25,324 out of a total investment of $50,648
The goal of the project is to renovate the building where the Grande-Entrée seniors’ club meets. The work includes replacing the access ramp for persons with reduced mobility and upgrading the plumbing and washrooms. The building’s foundations will also be repaired; one window will be replaced, the walls will be painted, flooring will be installed and electrical fixtures will be changed. CED is funding all of these costs.
The organization’s mission is to organize various activities for people aged 50 and over: dances, community meals, card games, arts and crafts, physical activities, etc. A meeting place, the community centre is also open to people of all ages.

Non-repayable contribution of $16,273 out of a total investment of $71,285
The project involves the renovation of the Grosse Île community centre. The lobby, the kitchen and the washrooms will be painted, plumbing work will be done, and the floors and ceilings will be replaced. CED assistance will cover all the costs.
The community centre is owned, on a 50-50 basis, by the Municipality of Grosse-Île and the Eastern Shores School Board. It serves as a gym and community infrastructure for social, recreational and cultural activities.
