A $531,000 investment will enable Société Laurentide to optimize its operations

Shawinigan, September 5, 2017 – The Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec are investing $361,000, in a $531,000 Société Laurentide project aimed at optimizing the business’s processes.
This funding will allow this key player in the Mauricie-region economy to enhance its international competitiveness by implementing innovative manufacturing techniques that are greener and more efficient.
François‑Philippe Champagne, Member of Parliament for Saint-Maurice–Champlain and Minister of International Trade, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions, and Julie Boulet, Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Mauricie Region, acting on behalf of Lise Thériault, Deputy Premier, Minister responsible for SMEs, Regulatory Streamlining and Regional Economic Development, made the announcement today in the presence of Pierre Giguère, Member for Saint-Maurice.
The federal government funding is granted through Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), while the Government of Quebec investment is from the Fonds de diversification économique du Centre-du-Québec et de la Mauricie.
