Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is committed to supporting innovative Canadian enterprises. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, Yves Robillard, Member of Parliament for Marc-Aurèle-Fortin, announced that GA International and SMT Hautes Technologies have been granted a total of $470,000 in repayable financial contributions. The funding has been awarded through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program (QEDP).

The support for GA International will help the company consolidate its operations in the life sciences niche by acquiring automated equipment for producing, printing and cutting adhesive labels. The investment in SMT Hautes Technologies will help this SME purchase new digital equipment designed to inspect the components of its four electronic circuit production lines and to launch a commercialization strategy in the United States.
