Eight businesses in the Lanaudière region will be able to carry out major innovation projects

The Government of Canada provides nearly $2.5 million in funding to multiple businesses in the Lanaudière region

February 19, 2018 – Saint-Lin–Laurentides, Quebec – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

In order to create and market innovative products, businesses must be able to rely on adequate resources. In 2017, the Government of Canada announced an ambitious plan to support innovative Canadian businesses. A driving force of the economy, innovation is the key to success in Canada, generating growth that benefits both businesses and communities.

With funding from CED, eight businesses in the Lanaudière region will be able to carry out projects that generate total investments of over $13 million in the region. In particular, the projects are aimed at improving productivity by updating state‑of‑the‑art equipment and implementing marketing strategies in Canada and abroad. The announced contributions will also lead to the creation of 34 jobs in the region.

These repayable contributions of $2,487,560 were announced today by Marc Garneau, Minister of Transport, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.

The eight recipient businesses are: Plastrec Inc., Industries UDACO Ltd, Composites VCI Inc., Robert Hydraulique Inc., Usinage CNC Production Inc. (in French only), Devolutions Inc., Biexo Inc. and Apogee Trailers.

The funding, allocated by the Government of Canada under CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program will enable recipient businesses to attain their growth objectives.
