Twelve projects to create more than 50 jobs in 10 fast-growing Gaspé businesses

Government of Canada awards more than $2.5 million in financial assistance for investment projects worth nearly $10 million.

In 2017, the Government of Canada adopted an ambitious plan to support entrepreneurial drive through concrete initiatives. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success because it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.

With $2,693,822 in financial support from the Government of Canada, Eocycle Technologies Inc., B.B. Group Inc. High Performance Brake Pads, Econergie GPmm Inc., O'Dwyer Micro-Distillerie Gaspésienne Inc., Forillon Shipyard Inc., Suspendem Rope Access Inc., Les Produits Tapp Inc., Hôtel Baker Ltée, ML6 Inc. and Microbrasserie Cap Gaspé Craft Brewing Co. will move forward with investment projects evaluated at nearly $10 million.

The announcement was made today by the Honourable Diane Lebouthillier, Member of Parliament for Gaspésie–Les Îles-de-la-Madeleine and Minister of National Revenue, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED.

The funding granted through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program will help the recipient businesses carry out many types of projects: start-ups, increase in production capacity, productivity enhancement, innovation-based marketing and equipment purchases. These projects are expected to create more than 50 good-quality jobs in the area.
