The Auberge des Îles will be able to go ahead with a major upgrade project

News release

The Government of Canada provides $500,000 in funding for this tourism establishment in Saint-Gédéon in the Lac Saint-Jean region.

April 16, 2019 – Saint-Gédéon, Quebec – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Auberge des Îles is ideally located on the shores of the majestic Lac Saint-Jean in Saint-Gédéon. To enhance and diversify its services, the hotel complex will receive a $500,000 repayable contribution from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. The funding will allow the Auberge to go ahead with a project to renovate its accommodation units and set up new infrastructure.

The funding was announced today by Richard Hébert, Member of Parliament for Lac-Saint-Jean and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and Export Promotion. With the help of this Government of Canada assistance, the Auberge des Îles (9292-1345 Québec inc.) will be able, not only to modernize its rooms and common areas, but also to add various facilities, including an indoor semi-Olympic pool, a water play area, a fitness room and an interactive gaming room.

The Auberge des Îles is one of the only resorts in the region to be located directly on the shores of Lac Saint‑Jean. The new administration plans to offer an enhanced product that better meets the needs and expectations of both domestic and international clients.

Tourism provides an excellent opportunity for both national and regional economic development. Federal funding for projects that aim to enhance the tourism experience is an effective means of supporting activities that generate significant economic benefits in the regions.
