Cemar Electro to expand into new international markets

The Government of Canada is allocating $100,000 in funding to this innovative company from Greater Montréal that specializes in the development and design of advanced lasers

Cemar Electro is a leader in North America, Europe, South America and Asia and a highly innovative company in the field of laser technology. In order to develop new markets abroad, it will receive a repayable contribution of $100,000 from Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions. With this funding, the company will be able to implement a marketing strategy to position its brand new technology developed for the industrial and medical sectors in the United States and Europe.

Anju Dhillon, Member of Parliament for Dorval–Lachine–LaSalle, announced the funding during a visit of the company’s facilities today. Specifically, the Government of Canada’s support will enable Cemar Electro’s team to hire a sales representative, attend trade shows in targeted markets, visit potential customers and distributors and establish new business partnerships.

Cemar Electro Inc. has been offering a variety of laser solutions used in the wood, stone, textile, metal and medical application industries since 1983. Thanks to its expertise in research and development, the company has also developed a laser adapted to extreme environments and specific lasers for radiation oncology treatments.

  • Today’s announcement is made on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister responsible for the Innovation, Science and Economic Development portfolio, which comprises 17 federal departments and agencies, including CED and the other five regional development agencies.
