Backgrounder: CED investments supporting young entrepreneurs across Quebec
Backgrounder
Montréal, Quebec, July 15, 2020 – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
The following information is in addition to the news release issued on July 15, 2020, on CED’s financial assistance for youth entrepreneurship across Quebec.
Increased opportunities for young people who are interested in developing entrepreneurial skills is critical to building a strong, diverse, inclusive and innovative economy in Quebec. That is why the Government of Canada, through CED, supports young entrepreneurs on an ongoing basis, as demonstrated by today's announcement totaling more than $3.1 million in funding. Among other things, this funding will ensure that young Quebecers have the tools and resources they need to play an active role in the recovery, rebuilding and revitalization of regional economies.
COVID-19 and related public health and travel restrictions are severely impacting private businesses and the organizations that support them. The Government of Canada continues to work with small business owners, communities and business organizations to help throughout the pandemic as they adapt their strategies and activities to address COVID-19 realities.
Summary
- 14 organizations and businesses supported by CED
- $3,145,120 in financial contributions from CED
