The following information is in addition to the news release issued on August 2, 2022, on CED’s financial assistance and the recipient communities and their respective projects.

Village municipality of La Guadeloupe

The project involves building a library to revitalize the main street, revamping outdoor spaces by adding an open-air reading area, and making a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will be used to demolish part of the old town hall and construct a new building; do landscaping work; and install urban furniture.

Saint-Georges (Beauce‑Sartigan RCM)

Maison de la Famille Beauce-Etchemins

The project involves building an outdoor community space to revamp outdoor spaces and make a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will cover the cost of building a permanent shelter, an outdoor classroom, a community garden and two playgrounds; installing a fence; and doing landscaping work.

Saint-Benoît-Labre (Beauce-Sartigan RCM)

Municipality of Saint‑Benoît-Labre

The project involves redeveloping a tennis court with a view to supporting a green project, enhancing outdoor spaces and making a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will cover the cost of excavating existing soils; installing drains and a geotextile membrane; doing asphalt paving work; applying a coating; removing and reinstalling fencing; and replacing existing lights with a more energy efficient LED lighting system.

Saint-Isidore (La Nouvelle-Beauce RCM)

Municipality of Saint‑Isidore

The project involves building a bike path along an almost 4 km long stretch of a railway right-of-way, in order to enhance outdoor spaces and link the Saint-Isodore and Beauce bike path networks to the Saint‑Anselme network and the Bellechasse Cycle Route.

CED’s contribution will cover the cost of the preparatory work and development of the bike path, and other project‑related expenses.

NB: This funding was already announced in a news release (in French only) issued by the municipality on June 20, 2022.

Saints-Anges (La Nouvelle-Beauce RCM)

Municipality of Saints‑Anges

The project involves redeveloping the main streets to revamp them and enhance outdoor spaces; support green projects; and make a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities.

CED’s contribution will cover professional fees for engineers, architects and landscapers, and will be used to build and repair sidewalks; do landscaping work; install urban furniture; and replace existing streetlights with a more energy efficient LED lighting system.

Adstock (Des Appalaches RCM)

Coopérative de solidarité récréotouristique du Mont Adstock

The project aims to expand the outdoor facilities at Mont Adstock, with a view to enhancing outdoor spaces and fostering the socio‑economic development of the Des Appalaches RCM.

CED’s funding will serve to develop 28 km of mountain bike trails and build 12 scenic lookouts and 6 mini relaxation shelters.

Saint-Jacques-de-Leeds (Des Appalaches RCM)

Municipality of Saint‑Jacques-de‑Leeds

The project involves constructing a two-storey building in the centre of the village to hold community/cultural activities. It will provide a shared home for all the municipality’s organizations, encourage volunteer involvement and ensure their sustainability. This community centre, which will be open to the public and universally accessible, will foster active aging and help break social isolation.

CED’s contribution will go towards building the community centre and doing landscaping work.

Saint-Julien (Des Appalaches RCM)

The project involves building a hockey rink on a synthetic field in order to revitalize the town centre and enhance the municipality’s outdoor spaces.

CED’s funding will serve to develop the field and to acquire and install the hockey rink.

Sainte-Clotilde-de-Beauce (Des Appalaches RCM)

Les loisirs de Ste‑Clotilde inc.

The project involves setting up an outdoor splash pad in the municipal park in order to enhance and revamp outdoor spaces.

CED’s support will be used to build the splash pad.

Saint-Joseph-de-Coleraine (Des Appalaches RCM)

Footpaths of the 3 mountains of Coleraine

The goal of the project is to upgrade the fitness trail by adding 10 more exercise modules. This will help enhance outdoor spaces and provide more opportunities for young people.

CED’s funding will be used to build the additional modules.

L'Islet (L'Islet RCM)

Municipality of L'Islet

The goal of the project is to upgrade a recreational park in order to enhance the municipality’s outdoor spaces.

CED’s contribution will target the planned improvements: upgrading the playground, which includes acquiring and installing new play structures; rebuilding the petanque pitch and the volleyball court; setting up trails and building sidewalks; building two paved parking lots; and installing a new lighting system.

Dosquet (Lotbinière RCM)

Municipality of Dosquet

The goal of the project is to expand and refurbish the community centre, which will be used for sports, recreational and social activities (youth centre, day camp, a room for relaxing and for FADOQ activities, and a sports changing room), with a view to revitalizing the main street and the village centre and improving accessibility for persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will be used for the expansion and refurbishing of the community centre (including the parking lot, and the relocation of the petanque pitch).

Saint‑Gilles (Lotbinière RCM)

The project aims to expand and upgrade the covered yard and build a volleyball court, with a view to enhancing outdoor spaces and making them more accessible for persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will cover the cost of refurbishing the covered yard and building the volleyball court, including material.

The goal of the project is to upgrade the community centre to make it more accessible for persons with disabilities.

CED’s funding will be used to make changes to the building structure in order to install an elevator shaft (floors, walls, doors, installation of the elevator and washroom adaptations).

Notre‑Dame-du-Sacré‑Cœur-d'Issoudun (Lotbinière RCM)

Parish municipality of Notre‑Dame-du-Sacré‑Cœur-d'Issoudun

The goal of the project is to upgrade the community centre to make it more accessible for persons with disabilities, and to add a baseball diamond, a volleyball court, a petanque pitch, a minigolf course and a playground. The project will allow the municipality to upgrade and revamp its outdoor spaces.

CED’s funding will serve to acquire and install a lifting platform for the community centre; create a park in the interior courtyard; replace the surface of the baseball diamond and add bases; add a volleyball court, a petanque pitch and a minigolf course; and set up a park with outdoor urban furniture and adapted modules.

The project, which involves building a park with play structures, swings and free-play areas designed specifically for young children and their families, will help revamp outdoor spaces and make a public space more accessible to persons with disabilities.
