Backgrounder: CED supports 11 tourism development projects in the Côte-Nord region

The following information is in addition to the news release issued on December 22, 2023, on CED’s financial assistance, the recipient organizations, and their respective projects.

The project aims to increase the Club du Lac des Baies’ four-season accommodation capacity.

The main activities will be the construction of two high-end cottages and the related facilities.

CED’s assistance will be used for the construction of the cottages and related costs.



Pourvoirie des Grands Ducs

(9353-4113 Québec inc.)


The project aims to modernize the attractions at the Pourvoirie des Grands Ducs in order to increase the drawing power of the area.

The project will primarily involve the acquisition and delivery of two high-end self-sufficient tiny cabins.

The CED funding will target all the project costs.



Expéditions Pirsuq inc.


The project aims to develop a new adventure tourism attraction that will enhance the Manicouagan RCM tourism micro-destination.

The main activities will be to build a dock and acquire a zodiac.

The CED funding will target all the project costs.



Station Uapishka S.E.N.C.


The project aims to improve the client experience and extend the peak season at Uapishka Station.

The main activities include constructing a utility building, acquiring and installing related systems, adding a floating dock and purchasing commercial vehicles for operational and recreational tourism use.

The CED funding will target all the project costs.



Auberge La Rosepierre

Les Bergeronnes

The project aims to modernize Auberge La Rosepierre’s accommodations in order to increase client traffic.

The main activities include improving and expanding the inn’s common areas; upgrading the rooms and outdoor areas; renovating the food court; and adding IT equipment for hotel management.

CED’s support covers overall project costs, except for those related to the renovation of the dining area.



Coopérative de solidarité en tourisme équitable

(Voyages COSTE)



The co-operative wants to speed up the sale of regional packages by setting up an online platform.

The main activities include designing, coordinating, implementing and providing training for an online booking platform, and developing websites for members of the co-operative.

CED’s support covers overall project costs, except for internal project management costs, and costs associated with the development of the co-operative’s member companies’ websites.



Pourvoirie Le Chenail du Nord inc.


The aim of the project is to modernize the Chenail du Nord outfitter’s attractions and accommodations to help draw in more visitors to the region.

The main activities include setting up new, four-season accommodation units; renovating existing cottages; installing septic tanks and insulation; and acquiring outdoor games.

CED’s assistance will primarily cover the cost of setting up the new accommodation units; the insulation; renovating existing cottages; and installing four septic tanks.



Noryak Aventures

(9433-7029 Québec inc.)


Noryak Aventures aims to upgrade its rustic accommodations and recreational tourism activities.

The project primarily involves acquiring rustic tents and doing various upgrades, notably on the energy and water systems and related facilities. The project also includes the acquisition of motorized and non-motorized leisure equipment and the acquisition of the IT equipment required for client activities.

The CED funding will cover all the project costs.



Shore Grow

(12006090 Canada Inc.)


The aim of the project is to develop Shore Grow’s accommodations to strengthen Bonne-Espérance as a tourism micro‑destination.

The activities undertaken include the acquisition of six glamping tents; an expansion of the guided visits area and parking lot; the addition of a laundromat, a storage area, and a reception space; the installation of signage; the acquisition of computers; and the development and implementation of a complete marketing plan.

CED’s support covers overall project costs, except for those expenses related to the marketing plan.



Pourvoirie Québec Nature

(9313-1704 Québec inc.)


The goal of the project is to develop the outfitter’s accommodations and activities with a view to increasing winter traffic and meeting the growing demand for accommodations in the summer.

The main activities will be to build a reception hut and acquire recreational equipment.

CED’s assistance will target the construction of the reception hut and related costs.



Lac Holt Outfitters Inc.


The project targets Lac Holt Outfitters’ development and green transition and the reduction of the business’s operating costs.

The main activities include acquiring and installing solar panels and related systems on all the buildings, and acquiring and installing solar-powered appliances; project management; and costs related to worker transportation and accommodation.

CED's assistance will cover the acquisition and installation of the solar panels and related systems and the solar-powered appliances.
