Ottawa and Québec grant over $1.6M to Emballages Façoteck to improve its productivity

Towards a better-performing manufacturing sector
Scotstown, Quebec, August 23, 2024 – The governments of Canada and Quebec and Investissement Québec are providing a total of $1,675,200 to Emballages Façoteck for it to improve its productivity and production capacity. The project involves purchasing and installing an automated encapsulating machine, a metal detector for quality control, and commercial vacuums.
The Minister of National Revenue, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, on behalf of the Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED), the Honourable Soraya Martinez Ferrada, and the Member for Mégantic, François Jacques, on behalf of the Minister of Economy, Innovation and Energy, Minister Responsible for Regional Economic Development and Minister Responsible for the Metropolis and the Montréal Region, Pierre Fitzgibbon, made the announcement today during a tour of the business’s facilities.
The Government of Canada is providing a repayable contribution of $175,000 for this project through CED’s Regional Economic Growth through Innovation (REGI) program. For its part, the Government of Quebec is granting two loans totalling up to $688,000 under the ESSOR Program. Two additional loans totalling $812,000 are being allocated to the business by Investissement Québec, through the Productivité Innovation initiative.
