FedDev Ontario Supports Innovative Mobile Software Developer in Toronto

March 18, 2016 – Toronto, ON – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)
Today, Adam Vaughan, Member of Parliament for Spadina–Fort York, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, announced funding of up to $275,000 in Toronto-based mobile software developer Nudge Rewards to expand its platform to include occupational health and safety programs.
Businesses need the right resources to further develop and bring their innovative products to market. The funding, through FedDev Ontario's Investing in Business Innovation initiative, will allow Nudge Rewards to further apply its "gamification" approaches to drive participation in corporate social responsibility and corporate investments.
FedDev Ontario's funding will allow Nudge Rewards to increase sales, both in Canada and globally, and strengthen the information and communications technology (ICT) sector and mobile software industry in Toronto.

- Located in Toronto and founded in 2011, Nudge Rewards expects to create up to six high-skilled jobs and maintain another six jobs during the project.
- Nudge Rewards, formerly Greengage Mobile Inc., is also leveraging $550,000 in private funding from angel investors, the MaRS and the Royal Bank of Canada.
- The funding will be used to adopt new tools to develop a strong and competitive product that will establish an audit trail of safety compliance training, deliver targeted training communications through Nudge Reward's mobile app, and gather real-time feedback on safety programs through its analytics dashboard.
- In 2013, the company earned the Globe Award for its commitment to sustainability, and was noted as one of Canada's top 20 emerging companies by C-100, a Silicon Valley-based not-for-profit organization.
