Government of Canada Announces Important Community Infrastructure Investments in London

February 8, 2016 – London, Ontario – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

Today, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and the Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, Kate Young, Member of Parliament for London West, and Peter Fragiskatos, Member of Parliament for London North Centre, announced that several London recipients will receive funding through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program in southern Ontario.

FedDev Ontario has approved a total of up to $1,829,194 for 10 projects in London. For more details, please see the backgrounder.

The announcement was made at the London Convention Centre.

These projects are part of more than 380 projects approved by FedDev Ontario through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program in southern Ontario.

As the country prepares for the 150th anniversary of Confederation, the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program is providing $150 million over two years to support projects that rehabilitate, renovate and expand existing public infrastructure for communities. The Program is expected to boost economic activity through infrastructure investments, build community-based partnerships and create a lasting legacy as Canada prepares to celebrate in 2017.
