FedDev Ontario Invests in Brantford Manufacturer

News Release

October 28, 2016 – Brantford, ON – Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario)

To be competitive, businesses need to bring their innovative products to market. This repayable contribution of $2.3 million, through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) Investing in Business Growth and Productivity initiative, will assist Ontario-based custom steel products manufacturer Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. to purchase and implement automated equipment to increase production capabilities and expand its presence in the American natural gas and coal retrofit markets.

The investment was announced by Bryan May, Member of Parliament for Cambridge, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario.

The City of Brantford and its residents will benefit from jobs and economic growth as a result of this investment. The project will also allow Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. to increase its raw material orders from existing southern Ontario suppliers, as a result encouraging job creation and stability in the Ontario raw materials supply sector.

The Government of Canada's Innovation Agenda aims to make Canada a global centre for innovation – one that creates jobs, drives growth across all industries and improves the lives of all Canadians. Today's investment in Cambridge Pro Fab Inc. is a prime example of that vision in action.
