FedDev Ontario Helps Two Manufacturers in Tillsonburg Improve Productivity and Diversify Exports

Backgrounder

The Government of Canada is committed to helping manufacturers obtain the tools they need to grow and succeed. To this end, two manufacturers located in Tillsonburg are receiving a total of up to $5.25 million to support productivity improvements, leading to increased export opportunities and job creation. Funding is being provided through FedDev Ontario’s Investing in Business Growth and Productivity initiative.

Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited

In operation for over 25 years, Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited is an award-winning metal stamping and assembly company that services the automotive industry. The company currently operates four plants in the Tillsonburg area, and one plant in Woodstock.

Funding will be used to purchase advanced production technologies and to expand a facility in Tillsonburg to accommodate the new equipment.

Marwood Metal Fabrication Limited also received a $100,000-investment through the FedDev Ontario-funded Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) SMART Advanced Technologies for Global Growth Program to purchase new equipment, which is expected to increase productivity.

70 full-time equivalent jobs This funding leverages a $1.5-million investment from the provincial government, $100,000 from Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters (CME) and $11.62 million in private sector investment.
Otter Valley Foods Inc.

Otter Valley Foods Inc., part of the Inovata Foods Group, is a food manufacturer that provides private label frozen entrees to large grocery chains in Canada. The company also produces national brand products under co-packing arrangements.

Funding will be used to add a new production line and install a second freezer system.
