Government of Canada supports tourism recovery and community infrastructure in Niagara region

Today, the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced an investment of more than $8.2 million, through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) and Tourism Relief Fund (TRF), for 34 community infrastructure and tourism projects in the Niagara Region:

Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority Improve greenspace infrastructure and increase safe access to six sites throughout the Niagara Watershed. $750,000 CCRF
Niagara-on-the-Lake Public Library Purchase and install various accessibility items, a self-checkout unit and install a library lending locker. $68,678 CCRF
St. Catharines Downtown Association Beautify the area used to implement the Downtown St. Catharines Summer Activation. $84,724 CCRF
St. George and St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Renovate and beautify outdoor grounds at the Serbian Community Centre in Niagara Falls. $149,872 CCRF
The Niagara Parks Commission Improve landscape and access of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls at the new Niagara Parks Power Station. $522,285 CCRF

Icellars Estate Winery Purchase wine bottling system to create wine tasting kits and enhance virtual wine tasting experiences. $60,000 TRF
Mazewood Create a permanent snow hill to facilitate and increase winter outdoor recreational activities and a Christmas market. $100,000 TRF
Pearl Morissette Estate Winery Expand the existing farm and gardens, develop an agri-tourism strategy, including guided tours and workshops, and the develop an online sales e-platform. $49,500 TRF
Plenty Canada* Enhance Jordan Hollow Park by installing contemporary Indigenous public art to create the Jordan Hollow Indigenous Cultural Park. $180,000 TRF
Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery Expand outdoor covered patio space. $100,000 TRF
Reif Estate Winery Create a four-season tented facility adjacent to vineyard to allow for year-round outdoor events. $50,000 TRF
