Government of Canada supports tourism recovery and community infrastructure support in southwestern Ontario

Backgrounder

Today, Irek Kusmierczyk, Member of Parliament for Windsor–Tecumseh, on behalf of the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced an investment of nearly $6 million, through the Tourism Relief Fund (TRF) and the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF), for 26 projects in Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton that will support community infrastructure enhancements, tourism recovery and economic development in the region.

Corporation of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent Replace the existing Mud Creek pathway with a wider, multi-use accessible pathway. $750,000 CCRF
Ottawa Street BIA Install lighting in the historic shopping district located in the Ottawa Street BIA area of the City of Windsor. $48,750 CCRF
Pathways Health Centre For Children Refurbish pool changerooms and office area to increase accessibility and enhance HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems. $748,873 CCRF
Ridgetown District Agricultural Society Construct a new pavilion at the Ridgetown District Pavilion. $155,024 CCRF
