Government of Canada to announce support for economic development of Waterloo Region and surrounding rural communities

January 9, 2024 – Waterloo, Ontario

The Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), will make an announcement for the economic success of Waterloo Region and surrounding rural communities to benefit key sectors such as automotive, including EV, cleantech and agri-food. Minister Tassi will be joined by Bryan May, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Small Business and to the Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario; the Honourable Bardish Chagger, Member of Parliament for Waterloo; Tim Louis, Member of Parliament for Kitchener–Conestoga; and Valerie Bradford, Member of Parliament for Kitchener South–Hespeler.
