Backgrounder: Eight Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area businesses receive support to scale up and grow

Today, the Honourable Evan Solomon, Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation and Minister responsible for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), announced a combined repayable investment of over $15 million to support the growth of eight Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area businesses. This support will help the companies scale up, adopt advanced technologies, and bring new innovative solutions and products to market.

GH Power Inc. Hamilton-based company to scale its high-purity alumina (HPA) and hydrogen production operations, offering continuous production, packaging and shipping capabilities for its green-certified HPA, a sustainable critical mineral. $2,000,000
Hitachi Rail Ground Transport System Canada Inc. Toronto-based company to support the development of the next-generation modern SelTrac™ Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) technology, integrating AI, 5G network capabilities, advanced sensors and advanced algorithms for urban train operators – enhancing the company's competitiveness in the Canadian and global markets. $3,000,000
Imagoh Foods Ltd. Scarborough-based company to adopt advanced manufacturing equipment to improve production capabilities for processed meat and ready-to-eat meals to meet growing market demand. $1,500,000
Paradigm Shift Technologies Toronto-based company to commercialize its environmentally sustainable EPVD® (Enhanced Physical Vapor Deposition) technology, a cleaner, innovative alternative for defence and industrial coating applications. $1,600,000
Redstone Food Group Mississauga-based company to adopt new advanced machinery and AI-driven quality control systems to improve productivity and bring new baked goods products to market. $2,000,000
Quantum Bridge Technologies Toronto-based company to further develop and commercialize quantum-safe cryptographic cybersecurity solutions that protect critical data and infrastructure from quantum computing threats. $2,700,000
