Tax deductions for employers of apprentices
It pays to hire and train apprentices
Employers and businesses that hire and train apprentices have access to tax credits. Some of these include:
- The Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit (AJCTC)
- The AJCTC is a non-refundable tax credit an employer can claim for each eligible apprentice. If your business has hired an eligible apprentice, you may qualify to claim the credit.
Helping your apprentices and employees with their tax credits
As an employer who hires and trains apprentices, you may need to provide information on behalf of your employees so that they can access some of these tax credits:
- Tradesperson’s Tools Deduction Tax Credit
- Tuition Tax Credits and Licencing Examination Fees
- Education Amount
- Textbook Tax Credits
