October 23 (PM) and October 24 (AM & PM), 2019
Chateau Nova Yellowknife Hotel, Yellowknife, NT
Following the NWT Water Strategy Stewardship Workshop focusing on northern waters in a changing climate, the CABIN Forum will provide an opportunity to focus on biological monitoring activities for the protection of freshwater ecosystem health in the north and across Canada. The purpose of this biennial forum is to bring together a variety of current and potential CABIN participants including Indigenous Peoples, community watershed stewards, and scientists from all levels of government, industry and academia to exchange information and promote collaboration.
The objectives of the forum are:
- to provide an opportunity for current and potential monitoring network participants to learn about biological monitoring and how CABIN is or can be applied in northern environments for the protection of freshwater ecosystem health
- to provide a forum for participants to interact, collaborate and learn from other members of the network
- to provide an opportunity for information exchange among CABIN users and the Environment and Climate Change Canada CABIN Team to address common needs and improvements for the program
The forum will have a blend of short presentations and interactive discussions with hands-on exhibits highlighting freshwater invertebrates to be explored during the breaks. The forum will also be available via webinar.
