Public consultation and stakeholder engagement Consider highlighting the substances that will be assessed in the next six months to encourage the voluntary submission of related information on the substances. This should be in addition to any other initiatives currently in place, such as targeted voluntary surveys or the annual Notice of Intent, which outlines the two-year rolling plan and any targeted voluntary surveys. The Government of Canada is committed to maintaining open and transparent assessment processes. Assessment start dates for substances to be assessed in the next two years and chemicals included in each assessment are listed in the List of Substances in the next phase of the Chemicals Management Plan (CMP) and Two-year Rolling Risk Assessment Publication Plan. An updated version of this document is available on the Canada. ca (Chemicals Substances) website, and informs upcoming mandatory and voluntary information gathering activities. Six months prior to the assessment start date, stakeholders are encouraged to provide additional information for consideration in the assessments.
Public consultation and stakeholder engagement A stakeholder is offering assistance if additional information is required to inform any follow-up activities planned for alkyl sulfates and olefin sulfonates. Follow-up activities to monitor changes in exposures are not being considered at this time because it is unlikely that these substances will increase in the environment to levels that are harmful to ecological and human health.
