Bird conservation overview

Environment and Climate Change Canada works with partners across Canada and internationally to maintain the diversity and abundance of waterfowl, landbirds, shorebirds and water birds under federal jurisdiction. Efforts focus on identifying conservation priorities using the best available science, protecting breeding, molting and migrating birds, providing high-quality habitat, ensuring that information is shared, and collaborating with and encouraging others to take action that sustains migratory bird populations.
