Government of Canada Invests $10,000 to Refresh Outdoor Recreational sites in Chapple

December 21, 2016 – Fort Frances, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario – FedNor

The Government of Canada is helping the Township of Chapple to repair and touch up its playgrounds, outdoor rinks, baseball fields and picnic areas. An investment of $10,000 will assist with a variety of upgrades such as adding protective surfacing under playground equipment, adding mesh at the baseball diamond, and increasing the height of backboards at outdoor rinks.

Don Rusnak, Member of Parliament for Thunder Bay—Rainy River, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment.

The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding, delivered in Northern Ontario through FedNor, is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments across Canada will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.
