The Government of Canada is investing $100,000 to assist with repairs to Wawa's iconic goose monument. The funding will help with the cost of dismantling the goose and shipping it to Toronto for repairs. The 8.5 metre structure has stood at the entrance to the town since it was erected in 1960 to commemorate the completion of the last link of the Trans-Canada Highway in Ontario connecting Wawa to Sault Ste.
