Government of Canada Invests $33,750 for Upgrades to Mississagi Provincial Park

The Government of Canada is investing $33,750 to assist with repairs to Mississagi Provincial Park in Elliot Lake. The funding will help with the cost of upgrading its boat launch, docks, playground equipment, amphitheatre and log cabin. The enhancements are expected to increase park activity and visitation.
The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment. The provincial park, which is operated seasonally by the City of Elliot Lake from May to September, is also used by neighbouring First Nations for education, traditional teachings and ceremonies.
The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding, delivered in Northern Ontario through FedNor, is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments across Canada will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.
