FedNor Invests in Community Infrastructure to modernize the Bruce Station Hall in the Township of Plummer Additional

January 27, 2017 – Bruce Mines, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario – FedNor

A Government of Canada investment of $20,000 will help the Township of Plummer Additional modernize its 80-year old community centre. Built by community members nearly 80 years ago, the community centre is a fixture of this rural community and a hub for community events and training sessions.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment. Specifically, the funding will be used to rehabilitate the facility's electrical systems, flooring, entrances, washrooms, kitchen appliances, audio system and exterior cladding.

The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding, delivered in Northern Ontario through FedNor, is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments across Canada will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.
