Government of Canada Invests to Renovate Englehart Curling Club

January 13, 2017 – Englehart, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario – FedNor

The Government of Canada is investing $16,340 to assist with renovations to the Englehart Curling Club. The funding will help with the cost of replacing the floor in the lounge area, updates to the washroom facilities, new tables and the installation of siding for the exterior of the building.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, and Minister responsible for FedNor, today announced this Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program investment. The Curling Club, which is located beside the Englehart Community Complex, offers a men's, ladies' and a mixed curling league, and hosts numerous bonspiels throughout the winter season.

The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) funding, delivered in Northern Ontario through FedNor, is part of the Government of Canada's coordinated approach to mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation. These investments across Canada will help create jobs, boost economic activity, strengthen communities, and celebrate Canada's rich heritage and history.
