Government of Canada invests $510,000 to help businesses and start-ups innovate, grow and create middle-class jobs

October 13, 2017 – North Bay, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor

Northern Ontario businesses will be well positioned to adopt new technologies, commercialize new products, grow their operations, capitalize on emerging opportunities and create jobs as a result of a Government of Canada investment of $510,000.

The funding was announced today by Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing-Timiskaming, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedNor.

Specifically, the funding will enable Innovation Initiatives Ontario North (IION) to implement its Triple-P initiative that can provide up to $10,000 to help businesses adopt new technologies, enhance productivity and increase their global competitiveness. The Triple-P initiative is expected to assist more than 40 Northern Ontario entrepreneurs grow their businesses and create or maintain up to 90 middle-class jobs in the region.
