Government of Canada invests $119,255 to expand local green economy initiative
November 15, 2017 – Sudbury, ON – Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario - FedNor
Local businesses looking to enhance productivity while achieving their environmental goals will benefit from a Government of Canada investment of $119,255 in reThink Green. The funding will enable the organization to expand its popular Green Economy North initiative.
The funding was announced today by Paul Lefebvre, Member of Parliament for Sudbury, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedNor.
This FedNor investment will enable reThink Green to assist businesses and start-ups improve their operations, and reduce operational costs in areas related to greenhouse gas emissions, water consumption and waste reduction. Specifically, the funding will help reThink Green expand its Green Economy North initiative throughout Greater Sudbury, provide member organizations with direct access to coaching and advisory services, as well as tracking and reporting tools such as carbon accounting software and surveys. Participating businesses will also benefit from access to online resources such as a green team guide, case studies and an energy auditing toolkit.
