Federal funding supports the economic vitality of Northern Ontario's official language minority communities

July 12, 2023 – Temiskaming Shores, ON – Federal Economic Development Agency for Northern Ontario – FedNor

Today, the Honourable Anthony Rota, Member of Parliament for Nipissing–Timiskaming, announced a
non-repayable FedNor investment of $32,570 to help the Temiskaming Art Gallery to complete operational, business and strategic plans to improve operations and pave the way for its long-term success. The announcement was made on behalf of the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Indigenous Services and Minister responsible for FedNor.

This priority project has helped create a social and economic roadmap for the Temiskaming Art Gallery to help guide future decisions, enhance programs and services, increase revenue and improve the overall guest experience. Specifically, the planning process identifed key areas of focus to strengthen the organization such as creating new partnerships, hosting more special events and exhibits, as well as increasing membership, sponsorships and merchandise sales. Funded through the Government of Canada’s Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (EDI), this strategic initiative builds on the success of Art Gallery’s recently introduced Northern Arts Connection program and high-profile exhibits such as Bronze Works by renowned local artist, Rose-Aimée Bélanger.
