Ministers Tootoo and Duncan Engage Students on Marine and Freshwater Science

OTTAWA, ONTARIO – Hunter Tootoo, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, and Kirsty Duncan, Minister of Science, will unveil the exciting and innovative career opportunities in marine and freshwater science as a result of Budget 2016, in conversation with scientists, high school and university students at the Canadian Museum of Nature. The Ministers will discuss what the Government of Canada’s $197.1 million investment in ocean and freshwater science means to Canadians, especially youth, during the interactive event, which will be streamed live on YouTube YouTube.com/FisheriesCanada.

A brief media availability will take place onsite at 9:45 a.m., following the event.
