Closed Areas for Shellfish Harvesting on the North Shore
News release
August 13, 2019 Québec, Quebec Fisheries and Oceans Canada
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, wants to inform the North Shore population that the harvesting of shellfish is now forbidden due to toxicity, in accordance with the prohibition order mentioned below, and pursuant to subsection 3 (1) of the Management of Contaminated Fisheries Regulations, in the following shellfish areas:
Prohibition Order: QTN-2019-038
Banc Marie-Marthe (Île Laval) (N-04.1.2.1)
From a point at east of Rivière Laval’s fairway to a point on shore, north of Île Brûlette’s west side, excluding any area within 300 m around Île Laval.
Prohibition Order: QTN-2019-039
Baie des plongeurs (N-04.1.3)
Baie des Plongeurs, from the southern point of Baie Didier to Pointe Orient.
Prohibition Order: QTN-2019-040
Cran à Gagnon (N-04.2.2)
From cran à Gagnon to the southwestern point of Rivière Blanche’s mouth.
Prohibition Order: QTN-2019-041
Anse du Colombier (N-04.4.1)
From a point located 300 meters east of Rivière Colombier’s mouth to Cap Colombier’s lighthouse.
