The Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard will be joined by First Nations commercial fisheries enterprises to make an announcement

Nanaimo, B.C. – The Honourable Joyce Murray, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, with representatives from Nuu-chah-nulth Seafood LP and SalPac Fisheries LP, will announce investments in 52 commercial fisheries projects that will benefit 117 First Nations communities across British Columbia. A media availability will follow.

NOTE: This will be an outdoor, in-person event. There is limited access due to COVID restrictions. Attendees must wear a mask at all times and provide a phone number for contact tracing. The event will include a Q&A media session. To register to attend the announcement, please indicate in advance by email: media.pac@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.

Parking: There is no parking at St. Jean’s Cannery. For parking, turn left at the Cannery off Southside Drive onto Cadillac Place. Turn left into the Island Scales parking area at 21 Cadillac Place. 

All current B.C. COVID health and safety protocols will be strictly followed.
