Enhanced Use of Disaster Risk Information for Decision Making in Southeast Asia

Funding: US$1 million

This initiative will assist the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) in developing ways to track public expenditures related to disaster risk management. The initiative will also assist the governments of the Lao PDR and Cambodia in developing disaster-loss databases for the road sector to ensure risk-informed decision making in the construction and repair of roads.

Improved Induction and Refresher Training for Laotian Immigration Officials

Funding: C$273,648

This initiative, to be implemented by the International Organization for Migration, will increase the ability of the Department of Immigration of the Lao PDR to detect and deter human-smuggling and -trafficking networks operating in the country.
