International Trade Minister to visit France and Germany

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of International Trade, today announced that he will attend the European Parliament vote on the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) and the Canada-EU Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) in Strasbourg, France, on February 15, 2017.

Minister Champagne will join Cecilia Malmström, European Commissioner for Trade; Bernd Lange, Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on International Trade; and Artis Pabriks, the Parliament’s chief CETA Rapporteur at a European Parliament press conference that will take place after the vote.

Minister Champagne will attend Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s address to the EU Parliament and accompany him to Berlin and Hamburg, Germany, on February 16 and 17 to meet with international counterparts and stakeholders and promote Canada’s progressive trade agenda.
