Foreign Affairs Minister to meet with Mexico’s Secretary of Economy in Toronto

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, will be in Toronto, Ontario, on March 30, 2018, to meet with Ildefonso Guajardo Villarreal, Mexico’s Secretary of Economy. During the meeting, the Minister will discuss Canada-Mexico bilateral relations and the mutual efforts of the two countries to modernize NAFTA.
As Canada, Mexico and the United States continue to make progress in the ongoing negotiations on NAFTA, Canada looks forward to strengthening the bilateral partnership with Mexico to further benefit businesses and workers in both countries.
