Statement by Foreign Affairs Minister on recent deaths in Nicaragua

The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement:

“Canada is deeply concerned by reports of several deaths and injuries surrounding ongoing demonstrations in Nicaragua.

“We urge all parties involved to resolve the situation through inclusive and peaceful dialogue to protect the rights and safety of the Nicaraguan people.”
