Media registration opens for the Ottawa Ministerial on WTO Reform

Canada’s Minister of International Trade Diversification, the Honourable Jim Carr, will be hosting the Ottawa Ministerial on WTO Reform on October 24 and 25, 2018. At this meeting, ministers will seek to identify concrete and tangible ways the operation and functioning of the WTO could be enhanced and improved over the short, medium and long term.

Media accreditation

Media must register by email no later than October 19, 2018, 11:59 p.m. ET. Please send your first and last names, media outlet, email address, phone number, and country you will be representing to media@international.gc.ca.

Media centre

The media centre will be located at the National Arts Centre, 1 Elgin St, Ottawa. It will provide accredited media with a workspace, including access to electrical power outlets and free Wi-Fi Internet access. Media will be asked to show photo ID and proof of the outlet they are representing upon arrival at the centre.

Contact information for media liaison officers will be available in the days leading up to the negotiations.

Entry formalities and visas

If you are travelling to Canada, please check here beforehand to find out whether you need an entry visa. Visa-exempt foreign nationals are expected to have an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) for air travel to Canada. Exemptions include U.S. and Mexican citizens, and travellers with a valid Canadian visa. You may also refer to the Travel Canada website to find out what documents are needed to travel to Canada.

Transportation and accommodations

Media representatives are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
