Biographical note – Mairead Lavery

Mairead Lavery joined Export Development Canada in 2014, taking on the role of senior vice president for business development. She came to EDC from Bombardier, after 16 years of assuming roles of increasing responsibility and managing large and complex portfolios. Her experience in strategic planning and corporate transformation has been very much on display in her past role at EDC, where she had a lead role in expanding the Crown corporation’s impact for Canadian exporters doing business in almost 200 countries, across all industrial sectors and serving the needs equally of all customers, small, medium or large in size.  A Canadian citizen, Mairead is a native of Northern Ireland, where she earned her degree in management and accounting from Queen’s University Belfast. She is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
