Canada deeply saddened by loss of life in Mexico pipeline explosion

Global Affairs Canada today issued the following statement:

“Canada is deeply saddened by the loss of life and injury caused by the pipeline explosion in Tlahuelilpan, Mexico. We offer our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of those who died and wish a swift recovery to those injured. Canada stands with the people of Mexico in the wake of this tragedy.

“Canadians in need of emergency consular assistance should call the Embassy of Canada in Mexico City, Mexico, at +52 55 5724 7900 or the Emergency Watch and Response Centre in Ottawa directly at +1 613 996 8885 (collect calls are accepted where possible).
